Just Thinking 14

I have often heard people get angry with God over things they have no control of as if God is to blame for their lack of progress or success.

Job 11:7-10 (NKJV) says,

“Can you search out the deep things of God? Can you find out the limits of the Almighty? They are higher than heaven — what can you do? Deeper than Sheol — what can you know? Their measure is longer than the earth and broader than the sea. “If He passes by, imprisons, and gathers to judgment, then who can hinder Him?

We are finite or limited in our minds and understanding, whereas God is infinite. We can’t see the limits of knowledge and wisdom but God is All-knowing, All-Wise, and All-powerful! Who can challenge His wisdom or hinder Him from a course of action? None!

There are vast areas of knowledge that we don’t have. What we know in life is like a drop of water in a bucket as compared to what we don’t know, which is like the vast waters of the ocean. Yet, God knows all!

Isaiah 40:12-18a (NLT) says,

12 Who else has held the oceans in his hand? Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers? Who else knows the weight of the earth or has weighed the mountains and hills on a scale? 13 Who is able to advise the Spirit of the Lord? Who knows enough to give him advice or teach him? 14 Has the Lord ever needed anyone’s advice? Does he need instruction about what is good? Did someone teach him what is right or show him the path of justice?

15 No, for all the nations of the world are but a drop in the bucket. They are nothing more than dust on the scales. He picks up the whole earth as though it were a grain of sand. 16 All the wood in Lebanon’s forests and all Lebanon’s animals would not be enough to make a burnt offering worthy of our God. 17 The nations of the world are worth nothing to him. In his eyes they count for less than nothing — mere emptiness and froth. 18 To whom can you compare God?

Before we start ranting against God next time in anger and frustration because of our problems, let us sit back, and control our tongues and emotions. Let us think, humble ourselves before God, acknowledge Him and seek His face with our desires. We will be surprised by the difference it would make to our expected outcome!

Proverbs 3:5-8 (NKJV) says,

5Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.
