Just Thinking 4

Just Thinking 4

Today’s meditation is a warning to avoid actions or statements that appear to disrespect God or to challenge His ways, as there will always be severe consequences of doing so.

I read the story of what happened with Eli’s children in 1 Samuel chapter 2. In verse 25, Eli says to his children,

If someone sins against a man, God will mediate for him, but if someone sins against the Lord, who can intercede for him?” But they would not listen to the voice of their father, for it was the will of the Lord to put them to death.

1 Samuel 2:25 ESV

Eli was warning his children who were messing about in the Tabernacle with God’s sacrifices and with women. They would not listen to their father nor fear God. They died in the end, leading also to the death of their father on same day.

Pay attention to wise counsel

If you have issues with a fellow man, God can mediate between the two of you. But when you contend against God, who can mediate between you and Him? It’s a no winner! Nevertheless, we thank God for Jesus Christ!

A wise counsel will often lead to life. A rejection of the words of the wise can have dire consequences.

Just thinking final thoughts…

So fear God, honour Him, show Him reverence, and be obedient to His words!
