Grace Bible Training Centre (GBTC) has as its motto:

“To promote and to preserve the integrity of God’s Word.”

This is a key element in the design of the training programme and the challenge of the proliferation of churches, ignorance of Bible Scriptures and concepts of Christian leadership by some Christian leaders. Many of these leaders have never had any theological or leadership training.

As a result, there have been several cases of failed leadership, spread of false doctrines, false teachings, and unethical practices in churches and ministries. To avoid corruption of God’s word and to encourage good practice and doctrine, as well as a healthy growth of the Church and its missions, GBTC was established to train new and existing leaders.

This training is offered tuition-free to provide opportunities for ministers and leaders in small towns and rural areas who otherwise would have been unable to afford the cost of such training as offered in most Bible Schools.

The Certificate of Ministry programme of GBTC is designed to be a ‘Real Life’, ‘Biblically Grounded’, and ‘Revelation Based’ training programme. It is ‘Real Life’ because it is focussed on real-life issues and taught from real-life experiences; it is ‘Biblically Grounded’ because all the life experiences are illustrated and demonstrated in the light of Scripture; it is ‘Revelation-based’ because every teaching and learning experience leads to a deeper insight into the mind and purposes of God, and it is an impartation of divine life and power upon each student. 

The overall training is designed in such a way that a life of true devotion to and an intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ is cultivated, nourished and established. It also prepares leaders for true and humble service to God and His people.

The Certificate programme is designed for Christian leaders, pastors and potential Christian leaders to develop their leadership skills and to gain true undiluted knowledge and understanding of the Bible. The programme runs for 2 academic terms of 2 months each and holds twice a week of 3-hour duration. For each Training Centre, the days and times of training are set such as to make it convenient for students to participate.

At the completion of the training programme, a test is conducted made up of multiple-choice questions which cover all 8 subjects. Success in the test leads to the award of the Certificate of Ministry. A minimum of 75% attendance at lectures is expected of all students in order to qualify to sit exams.

The following are the entry requirements for all Certificate Course students:

1. Must be born again
2. Must be able to read and write
3. Must have a minimum level of literacy equivalent to that of a Secondary school student
4. Must have a desire to serve God sincerely and with integrity
